Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) – Location: Blandford Forum – Pay Rate: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience) – Start Date: Immediate – Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time

Are you a caring and patient individual passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Blandford Forum area. As a 1:1 TA, this role involves providing personalised support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN), helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
• Assist with classroom tasks and adapt learning materials to support understanding.
• Encourage positive behaviour and build the pupil’s confidence and independence.
• Monitor progress and work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
• Support the pupil in managing emotional or behavioural challenges effectively.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting.
• Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and provide flexible support based on the pupil’s needs.
• A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
