Job summary

RecruitedUK is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to learners in a Newport-based classroom. This full-time, permanent role runs Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm, with a 35-hour week.

You will work closely with tutors to help learners develop confidence, complete coursework and learning activities, and stay motivated in an inclusive, safe environment. An enhanced DBS check and EWC registration are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or a genuine passion for supporting them (as described).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, patient, and encouraging approach.
• Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to learners during training sessions.
• Help learners complete coursework, assignments, and learning activities.
• Encourage participation, motivation, and confidence.
• Support tutors in delivering engaging learning sessions.
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
