Job summary

The Batt School is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Witney. You will work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Lead to provide personalised support, helping pupils with additional needs to feel valued, safe and encouraged to succeed.

You will assist with routines, social and emotional development, and work towards individual education plans in a collaborative setting. Training and career development are available.

Job description

The Batt School, St Mary’s Infants, Witney and The Oxford Diocesan Schools’ Trust (ODST) are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism; all staff must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role. Online searches will be undertaken at shortlisting stage.

The Batt School and St Mary’s Infant School are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting individual pupils to thrive.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Lead to provide personalised support, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where the pupil feels valued, safe, and encouraged to succeed. The role also involves support pupils who may experience challenges with emotional regulation, helping them to feel safe, calm, and ready to learn.

  • Previous experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential
