Job summary

A Montessori Nursery in Brighton is seeking a dedicated individual to provide one-to-one support for a child with additional needs. The successful candidate will build a strong relationship with the child, ensuring their wellbeing and inclusion in a nurturing environment. This role involves collaboration with experienced SENDCOs and teachers to implement the child's SEN Support Plan. The position is fixed-term until July 2027, with term-time-only hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 4:00.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs or general experience with children.
  • Must have an Early Years Qualification at Level 2 or 3.
  • Clear communicator with a focus on children's communication.

Overview

Come and join the wonderful team at Hotwells Children's House working one to one supporting a child with additional needs to access play and learning opportunities in our Montessori Nursery. You will be working as part of a team of highly qualified Early Years and Montessori Teachers, in a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment. You will focus on building a strong relationship with the child, allowing you to support their wellbeing, involvement and inclusion throughout the nursery day. You will be well supported by experienced SENDCOs and teachers, and you will help to implement the child's SEN Support Plan, using strategies to support their communication and interaction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support for a child with additional needs to access play and learning opportunities in the Montessori Nursery.
  • Build a strong relationship with the child to support wellbeing, involvement and inclusion throughout the nursery day.
  • Work with a team of experienced SENDCOs and teachers to implement the child’s SEN Support Plan and use strategies to support communication and interaction.
Contract and Hours
  • This is a fixed-term role linked to the child’s attendance and funding, likely until July 2027 when the child starts school.
  • Term-time only setting.
  • Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 – 4:00.
