Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking 1:1 tutors to support children with SEN needs in the Barnsley area. Tuition opportunities occur during the school day, primarily in Maths and English. Successful tutors should be able to adapt to students with SEN and behaviours, with sessions taking place at home, school, or local libraries.

You must be able to engage and motivate learners to enjoy learning. Essential checks include Right to Work in the UK, DBS with update service, and two professional references.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential if you have relevant experience.
• Experience working with students with SEN would be advantageous.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• A positive attitude and desire.
• The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.

Responsibilities

About the 1:1 Tutor position:

Prospero Teaching are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children with SEN needs in the Barnsley area.

We have a variety of different tuition opportunities that take place during the school day.

Successful tutors should be able to support mainly with the core subjects of Maths and English

You should be flexible, adaptable and have experience working within the education sector.

Lessons could take place in either their home, school or an alternative setting such as a local library.

Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working at lower levels than their peers.

Contract Details for 1:1 Tutor position:

• Location Barnsley

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the 1:1 Tutor position:

To be eligible for the 1:1 Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references (including a child-related role) that cover the last two years
