Job summary

A leading educational support provider in Manchester is seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistants. In this role, you will support individual pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning and build confidence. Applicants should have previous experience with SEN children, patience, and strong communication skills. Immediate start available with competitive daily rates between GBP105 and GBP115.

Qualifications

We are currently recruiting dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Support Assistants to work across primary schools in Irlam, Salford. This role involves supporting individual pupils with special educational needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis, helping them access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in a childs education and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering learning activities and managing behaviour
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the individual pupil's needs
  • Monitor and report progress to the SENCO and class teacher
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working 1:1 with children with SEN (in schools or similar settings)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
  • Two recent, relevant references
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
