Job summary

An educational service provider is seeking 1:1 tutors to support children in care and those with special educational needs in Camden. The role involves working with disengaged students aged 5 to 16, delivering tailored English and Maths sessions in various settings. Candidates should ideally have QTS or QTLS and experience working with special educational needs. Flexibility in hours is available with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for every student.

Qualifications

Overview

Omega Tutoring are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Camden and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with students aged between 5 and 16 years old. The majority of these students are disengaged in education and may be out of school, with many not on a school roll.
  • Deliver sessions either at the student\'s home or the local library. Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are likely to be working below age-related expectations.
  • Typically work 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, with the possibility to take on more hours by handling more than one case.
  • Deliver sessions with a focus on English and Maths.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential if you have relevant experience. Minimum of degree level.
  • Experience working with students with SEN. Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student. Positive attitude and ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child and barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
