Job summary

GSL Education in Stansted Mountfitchet is seeking an Outreach Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a student in the local community. The role involves transporting the student to activities, building trust, and helping develop confidence, independence and life skills outside traditional classroom settings.

The successful candidate will have experience with children or young people, be a confident driver with a full UK licence, and demonstrate excellent communication and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in educational or care settings.
• Driving and safeguarding knowledge are essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and professionals.
• Patience and resilience in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student within the community.
• Safely transport the student to and from activities, appointments and educational provisions.
• Identify and support engagement in positive and enriching activities.
• Build trusting relationships to promote confidence and independence.
• Support development of social skills and routines.
• Work with students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD or behavioural needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Liaise with schools, parents/carers and external professionals.
• Monitor, record and report on progress, engagement and wellbeing.
• Promote resilience, independence and life skills.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism and safeguarding.
