Job summary

Academics Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ALN in a Nursery/Reception classroom in Barry. You will provide individualised support, assist with classroom activities, and help with targeted interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role involves personal care where required, a patient and flexible approach, and collaboration with the school team to promote inclusive learning and development for young children.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ALN or additional support needs desirable.
• Experience in Nursery/Reception or Early Years settings beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Two professional references requested.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ALN in a Nursery/Reception setting.
• Support the pupil's communication, social, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Assist with personal care when required, including nappies.
• Support the class teacher with classroom activities and targeted interventions.
• Encourage independence and engagement through play-based learning.
