Job summary

A local primary school in Great Tey is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for children with special educational needs. The role requires a positive attitude and a commitment to the school's values, working 30 hours per week during term time. Experience in schools and strong literacy/numeracy skills are preferred. All appointments are subject to safeguarding checks and clearances.

Job Description

1:1 Learning Support Assistant

  • 5 days per week - 8.45am to 3.15pm (including 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Total hours: 30 hrs per week
  • Term time only (38 weeks per year)
  • Pay Band - Scale 4
  • Required ASAP

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team. Our LSAs work predominantly with children with SEND, often on a 1:1 basis. The successful applicant will have a 'solution-based' attitude, will emanate positivity and will uphold our Christian values: Aspire, Care, Empower.

We are a Trauma Perceptive Practice school and the key principles are embedded in our vision and our practice.

We have a friendly and supportive staff and fantastic children.

The successful applicant should preferably have:

  • Experience of working in schools
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • A commitment to meeting the needs of all pupils
  • An ability to work on their own initiative

Some supervision of children during break and lunch times will also be required.

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and medical checks.
