Job description

Are you an experienced Tutor passionate about supporting students 1:1 or in small groups to overcome their barriers to learning?

Chalk Education are recruiting for a 1:1 Functional Skills Tutor on a part-time basis. This role involves working with students of various ages, helping them develop critical skills in literacy and numeracy, as well as other essential competencies.

Our client is a world‑leading tuition provider, committed to providing exceptional educational support to students. The role will involve planning and delivering tuition to students from Reception to A‑Levels. You will need to be able to teach Functional Skills, English and/or Maths to a good standard and build relationships with students, showing understanding and having a creative approach to learning.

Responsibilities

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications

• PGCE or other relevant teaching qualification OR significant experience tutoring in a similar setting
• Experience preparing students for GCSEs
• Good subject knowledge in one or two secondary school curriculum areas
• Experience with SEND, such as SEMH, MLD and ASD
• Excellent behaviour management
• Flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude
