Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an ESOL Tutor to deliver one-to-one English language tuition across Grays. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons, helping learners develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while building confidence in English.

Ideal candidates have QTS/PGCE/ESOL qualification and at least 6 months of ESOL teaching or tutoring experience, with the ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds and monitor progress toward educational goals.

Qualifications

• QTS/PGCE or ESOL qualification or equivalent.
• 6+ months’ experience in ESOL teaching or tutoring.
• Ability to plan and deliver tailored ESOL lessons.
• Knowledge of language acquisition and literacy support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke English language tuition on a 1:1 basis to learners across Grays.
• Plan, create and deliver tailored ESOL lessons to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Support learners with varying levels of English proficiency and progression toward educational goals.
• Monitor progression and provide effective learning outcomes with the support of Prospero Teaching.

Education

QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESOL, ESOL qualification, or equivalent

Minimum 6 months' experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting learners with English as an Additional Language

Experience planning and delivering engaging ESOL lessons tailored to individual learning needs

Knowledge of language acquisition, literacy development, and effective EAL support strategies
