Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an adult registered nurse with full NMCregistration, to join our team for 22.5 Hours per week.

As a registered nurse you will be responsible for supporting your manager andcolleagues in ensuring that service users needs are met through the deliveryof safe, effective high-quality care. We are looking to welcome a professionaland enthusiastic band 5 staff nurse

We areseeking a nurse who is confident and self-motivated with the abilityto work in a fast-paced environment, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Thesuccessful candidate must demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude and have a desire to provide high quality and efficient care to women within theGynaecology department.

We offersupport and development to all of our nurses, including a period of supernumerary on commencement of employment, department specific training andappraisals.

The Gynaecology Inpatient Ward is a six bedded ward, with an Early Pregnancy AssessmentUnit and Ambulatory Care Unit. We care for planned, emergency and outpatientactivity 7 days per week.

Main duties of the job

Thesuccessful candidate will have a responsibility for the assessment of careneeds and the implementation of care, including discharge, and transferofpatients.

Youwill be expected to adhere to the NMC Professional Code of Conduct and be familiarwith and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures laid down by the Trustreporting untoward incidents and completing appropriate documentation.

Youwill provide care to a range of patients including;

  • Post-operativecare for day case and major surgical operations.
  • Patientswith complications of early pregnancy including: hyperemesis, miscarriage,ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, and termination.
  • Bereavementcare for patients and relatives who require palliative care, or experiencingloss of pregnancy.
  • Triageof patients following department specific processes and providing informationand care to patients based upon these

Excellentcommunication skills are essential, with the ability to work as part of amulti-disciplinary team, in sensitive and challenging situations.

Youwill carry out duties according to both local and national policies, proceduresand guidelines, contributing to quality improvement, and promoting bestevidence-based practice.
