This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in the community.
Closing date for applications:12:00pm on21st November 2025
Interview date: 9-10 December 2025
We are nine rural parishes looking for a pioneer priest.
If you’ve been trained in pioneer ministry, then we want to hear how that has helped you bring people closer to Christ and become believers.
You’ll be working alongside our established Ministry Team to support our existing outreach and create new opportunities to practically express God’s love for this part of Devon.
We’ve got locals and new comers, young farmers and old timers, cake bakers and coffee drinkers, dog walkers and coast path explorers, so you’ll need a heart for rural mission and be ready to get stuck in with all the things that are going on in this part of the world.
Here is challenge, choice and opportunity.
For an informal conversation about this position please contact the Venerable Verena Breed, Archdeacon of Barnstaple.
We aim to be a diverse and truly representative diocese, and particularly welcome applications from women and minority ethnic groups. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
