The Nemesis team (Neighborhood Environments and Mobility: Effects on Social health InequalitieS) at Inserm Unit U1136 (Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the project:
“Hwaves-Neuro: Heat waves risks for neurodegenerative patients in different microclimatic areas. Short-term impact of heat waves on the risk of hospital admission, emergency department visits and death for Alzheimer, Parkinson, Lewy Body disease and related dementia.”
Based on the analysis of data from the French National Health Data System (SNDS), the project aims to: (1) examine the association between various meteorological heat-wave indicators, with different time lags, and the risk of emergency department visits, hospitalization, and death for Alzheimer, Parkinson, Lewy Body disease and related dementia; (2) assess the moderating effect of air pollutants on the association between heat and health risk; (3) evaluate the moderating effect of microclimatic factors related to urban heat vulnerability on the association between meteorological indicators and health risk.
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will contribute to the development of research methodologies, experimentation, data processing and analysis, and the dissemination of results. Specifically, the post-doc will examine how exposure to meteorological factors and air pollution is associated with the risk of emergency department visits, hospitalization, and death.
The recruited postdoctoral researcher will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team and will contribute to various stages of the project. The main responsibilities include:
Study Coordination and Data Management
Analyze SNDS and environmental data:
Scientific Communication and Dissemination
