The Commute project is fully funded by the ANR (main French funding agency) and aims, in collaboration with researchers at the PRISM laboratory (CNRS & Aix-Marseille Univ) as well as private companies Airbus and Stellantis, at identifying sensory feedback-based solutions to facilitate human actions. While the ultimate goal is to provide an interface to facilitate driving a car and piloting an aircraft, the proposed part of the project is to conduct basic science to determine the perceptual characteristics of somatosensory (tactile and proprioceptive) and auditory cues and how these could influence the control of voluntary actions.
The postdoctoral fellow will work with researchers, engineers and technicians plus a PhD student, and will be expected to survey the literature, propose hypotheses and experiments to the team, prepare and run experiments with human participants, analyze the collected data, propose figures and interpretations, present work to the team and to peers at local, national and international events/conferences, and write reports and manuscripts for publication.
