A leading aerospace company is seeking a Research Scientist in Goyrans, France, to leverage expertise in Multiphysics simulation and contribute to pioneering technology. This role requires significant experience in numerical analysis, programming (Python/C), and the ability to solve complex physical problems. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, and will have opportunities for further professional development. A Ph.D. in relevant fields is expected. How you will contribute to the team
  • Scientific Investigator: You'll be at the forefront of your field, conducting scientific research and staying current with the state-of-the-art (SotA). This means not just following research, but actively contributing to it.
  • Technology Developer: You are responsible for creating new "techno bricks," which are building blocks for future products. This is a hands-on development role where you will turn research concepts into tangible technological components.
  • Collaborator and Communicator: You'll work as a key link between your technical team and external partners. This includes engaging with stakeholders within the company, but also building a network with leading academic institutions and start-ups to find collaboration opportunities.
  • Problem Solver & Innovator: Your job is to take complex, multi-physical problems and find intelligent, efficient ways to solve them. You will work on designing products by considering multiple physical constraints simultaneously, using advanced techniques like mixed-fidelity models and automation to improve the design process.
  • IP Guardian: You will play a crucial role in securing the company's intellectual property. This involves working directly with the IP team to help with the technical details of patents and invention disclosures.
  • Mentor: You will be responsible for supervising and guiding students, which means sharing your knowledge and helping to develop the next generation of talent.
About you
  • Multiphysics Knowledge: High Multiphysics experience and knowledge: concrete experience and strong theoretical knowledge in Multiphysics methodologies & solvers (e.g. CFD, acoustics, thermal, electromagnetism, structure...)
  • Strong Programming and Computer Skills: Proficiency in Python and / or C, along with concrete experience in 3D or 0D / 1D modelling and using generic scientific software (e.g., Simulink, Freefem and Dolphin).
  • Expertise in Numerical Analysis: A solid background in numerical analysis and optimization techniques, particularly in the continuous domain.
  • Advanced Academic Background: Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Physics
  • Problem-Solving & Formalization: The ability to translate a complex user problem into a formal computational problem.
