A leading nuclear energy company in Marseille is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to design special-purpose machines. Responsibilities include CAD design, conducting feasibility studies, and selecting materials. The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and is fluent in English. This role combines innovative engineering with collaboration in a technically diverse environment.

Qualifications

  • 0 to 10 years of experience in design or manufacturing projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of EUROCODES; familiarity with the Machinery Directive is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Participating in the definition of tooling concepts.
  • Conducting feasibility and detailed studies.
  • CAD design and mechanical sizing.
  • Selecting materials and electromechanical components.
  • Producing assembly drawings and detailed drawings.
  • Creating intervention sequence plans.
  • Writing design and implementation documentation.
  • Participating in workshop acceptance tests.

About the role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing special-purpose machines for machining, welding, metrology, non-destructive testing, and/or handling activities.

You will report to the Product Manager and be located at Marseille

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participating in the definition of tooling concepts during the bidding phase
  • Conducting feasibility and detailed studies
  • CAD design and mechanical sizing
  • Selecting materials and electromechanical components
  • Producing assembly drawings, detailed drawings, and bills of materials
  • Creating intervention sequence plans and handling plans
  • Writing design, qualification, and implementation documentation for tooling
  • Participating in workshop acceptance tests, development, and qualification of tooling.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in general or mechanical engineering, or equivalent
  • 0 to 10 years of experience in design or manufacturing projects
  • Passion for mechanics and special-purpose machinery
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong writing skills and ability to synthesize information
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of EUROCODES; familiarity with the Machinery Directive is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in the nuclear field and RCC-M regulations are appreciated.
