A leading research institution in France is seeking a Researcher for a 20-month contract focused on analyzing vigilante justice movements in the overseas departments. The research contract focuses on analyzing so-called vigilante justice movements in the French overseas departments (Mayotte and Réunion). The researcher will be responsible for collecting and analyzing qualitative data (interviews and observations) relating to self‑justice movements in Mayotte and Réunion. In addition to this research work, he/she will be required to participate in the scientific orientation of the project.
The 20-month contract is attached to IRIS under the scientific responsibility of Mathilde Darley (CNRS – IRIS) and in scientific partnership with Benoît Trépied (CNRS – IRIS). It is part of the ANR-25-CE53-5127 FRANJU (France justicière) project on practices of self‑justice in metropolitan France and overseas territories, coordinated by Gilles Favarel‑Garrigues (CNRS – CERI).
