Description du poste

Hi, we're Back Market.

We're here to help make tech reliable, affordable, and better than new. We're a global marketplace for refurbished devices, helping lower our collective environmental impact by providing trustworthy, affordable tech with 92% less carbon emissions than new.

Yep, you read that right. Turns out refurbished tech is way better for the planet than new. In fact, with every device purchased on Back Market, our positive impact on the planet grows. From our Customer Care representatives to our software engineer, every individual at Back Market cuts the planet—and consumers—a break. Our mission is simple : to do more with what we already have.

Are you ready to join us?

You'll lead the country & category growth and profitability strategy and execution for Trade‑in. This is a cross‑functional role, where you will partner with internal experts from marketing, seller management, product, tech, catalog, customer care, operations and shipping teams to shape and implement your vision.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT)
  • Own the bi‑annual budget exercise and set targets for your scope's metrics, as well as their contribution to Trade‑in and Back Market's profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Be accountable for the P&L per country and per category, explain variations vs target, identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key country & category metrics to measure success, inform decisions, and guide future initiatives.
  • Define KPIs and build the tracking framework & tools for assessing and monitoring your area of business.
  • Run current operations: Identify, size and prioritize opportunities for volume and value growth, process optimizations and increased profitability. Lead and execute the related action plans.
  • Perform in‑depth analyses on internal data and market & competitor watch (prices, strategic moves, marketing, …).
  • Audit, identify, size and prioritize the different levers: countries and categories, upgrade vs sell, organic vs paid channels, customer acquisition vs repeat, market growth vs market share.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to launch trade‑in in new countries and categories. Lead the launch: coordinate teams (catalog, offer, marketing, product, tech), set targets and track impact. Monitor the ramp‑up phase and ensure we reach full potential according to forecast.
  • Communicate effectively on your scope's ambition, progress and wins to the Trade‑in team and beyond, engage Country Managers and key company leaders on your scope and projects.
YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF
  • You have a master's degree or equivalent.
  • You have at least 7–10 years of experience in a fast‑paced, high‑demanding work environment (tech, scale‑up, e‑commerce, consulting) with accountability on a large business unit.
  • You have an entrepreneurial and proactive spirit, the ability to manage projects end‑to‑end, from strategic thinking to concrete implementation.
  • You are impact‑driven, and creative in finding solutions to achieve your goals in a frugal and fast‑paced environment.
  • You have a strong track‑record in cross‑functional project management, collaboration with various stakeholders and communication (written and oral).
  • You are data‑driven with a keen interest in drawing insights from data. You're comfortable extracting and analysing data autonomously, and able to model complex projects or forecasts (mastery of Gsheet, basics of SQL are a must).
  • You are fluent in English. French is a strong plus.
  • Bonus points for:
    • Experience on process automation (Zapier, Workato, creation of AI agents) – willingness to learn required.
    • Experience with CRM tools, Google Analytics, data dashboarding and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Amplitude…) – willingness to learn required.
    • Other languages: Spanish, German.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US?

At Back Market, we're committed to hiring and supporting diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives – it's one of the reasons we're such a high‑scoring certified B Corp company (93.2).

No matter your role and seniority level, you'll enjoy impact‑driven work with hands‑on career development in an innovative, driven, and fast‑paced environment – with benefits to match, like:

  • A mission‑driven work environment where your day to day makes an impact on the planet. Seriously.
  • Hybrid work environment, with 2 remote days a week and 1 remote work week per quarter, plus 3 flex days.

At Back Market, we strive to create a workplace that embodies the world we're trying to change. We've embedded our diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into our DNA – from dedicated staff to employee resource groups to our company values.

We know that the perfect background for a role doesn't mean the perfect fit – we encourage you to apply for a role even if you think you may not have all the qualifications.

If reasonable accommodations are needed for the interview process, please do not hesitate to discuss this with the Talent Acquisition Team.
