GravitHy is an innovative French company with a global ambition to decarbonize the steel industry. Our mission is to produce large-scale, low-carbon Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) using renewable and low-emission hydrogen. build, own, and operate our first green iron plant in southern France (€2.3B Capex), with the objective of replicating this model across Europe and beyond.

About the Role

GravitHy is seeking a Contract Manager (F / M). Reporting to the PMO, the Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution and compliance of project contracts throughout their lifecycle. Acting as a key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, she / he ensures that contractual obligations are understood, respected, and strategically managed to mitigate risks and optimize project outcomes. She / He collaborates closely with engineering, procurement, project controls, and legal teams to support successful project delivery.

Location: Paris, with occasional travel to Fos-sur-Mer and engineering company's offices.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Administration and Compliance
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with contractual obligations across all project phases.
  • Support the interpretation, clarification, and application of contract terms within project teams.
  • Maintain, update, and control all contractual documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure consistent alignment between the main contract and subcontractor or supplier agreements (back-to-back approach).
  • Ensure strong link and coordination with PMO office and in particular the cost control function to consolidate accurate and up-to-date committed and forecasted budget at completion values.
2. Risk, Claims, and Change Management
  • Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation measures, in coordination with Legal.
  • Track project changes and schedule deviations to maintain accurate records supporting potential claims.
  • Prepare and defend claims and respond to those made against the company.
  • Coordinate and support the management of insurance claims and indemnification procedures.
  • Actively participate in the QRA (Quantitative Risks Analysis) development and monitoring. Develop mitigation plans where and when relevant.
3. Negotiation and Stakeholder Support
  • Manage and negotiate contract amendments and variations aligned with project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Advise project teams on contract-related procedures and ensure compliance with procurement processes.
  • Draft and validate key contractual communications, including Early Warnings and formal correspondence.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all contract-related matters between project, client, partners, and suppliers.
4. Governance, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
  • Raise awareness among project teams about contractual obligations, risks, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the identification and management of project risks and opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement of internal contract management procedures and tools.
Profile: Education
  • Master's degree in engineering
Experience
  • At least 10 years in EPC / industrial projects, including claim and negotiation management
  • At least 10 years of experience in industrial as piping or BIM engineer in Continuous heavy process industry
Required skills & knowledge
  • Strong expertise in contract law and contract management for EPC / EPCm projects.
  • Solid understanding of procurement, subcontracting, risk allocation, and insurance / claims.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills in complex industrial environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French.
  • High integrity with a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
