Your Mission

Making a good first impression is key when you meet someone new. At BlaBlaCar, this is the job of the Discover squad. Whether it’s the homepage or specialized landing pages, the squad’s mission is to gather all available trips on BlaBlaCar (carpool, bus, and soon trains), enrich them with useful information, and render these pages in the blink of an eye, focusing on blazing fast response times and web performance.

As a Confirmed Frontend Engineer, your role will be to design and deliver new features to enhance these landing pages. You will address challenges related to SEO and web performance optimization while building our in-house CMS, ensuring an elevated user experience. Your main contributions will be to our web app codebase (Typescript, React, Turborepo, etc.).

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work with a team comprising 1 Frontend Engineer, 4 Backend Engineers, and one Product Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in technical discovery to find the most relevant solutions aligned with business priorities
• Launch new features while maintaining a high-quality codebase
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Collaborate with colleagues from different roles and backgrounds, sharing your technical expertise across technical, product, and business domains
• Proactively engage in your team’s processes and product decisions

Your Qualifications

• Proficiency in Typescript, HTML5, CSS3
• Hands-on experience with developer tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-growing, and innovative environment
• Ability to take ownership, aligned with business priorities

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in React Native
• Experience with SEO and web performance optimization
