Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Business Development Director Government (France), to join our team and play a critical role within the Global Government team in supporting growth and revenue. In this position, you’ll work closely with the existing French defence team including Business Development, Senior Military Advisors, Government Relations and Account Management, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.

Who You Are

A professional Business Development leader with demonstrable skills and relationships with the French Government, Defence and Security Sector. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running with existing relationships and reputation within this community of decision makers.

Ideally, you will hold or be able to hold a French National Security Clearance and be able to navigate the appropriate Government departments from Strategy to Requirement, from End User to Procurement.

You will work as both a single contributor and as part of an important team in France with support from existing Business Developers, Senior Military Advisors, Government Relations and Account Management.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify and build a solid Pipeline of opportunity. Qualify existing leads and drive them through the sales funnel within CRM
  • Create, Manage and own the Government, Defence and Security Stakeholder maps for France. Including end users, procurement, military commanders and our distribution partner network
  • Identify capability needs and with support from the wider team build value propositions, white papers and unsolicited proposals to articulate and shape the requirement with the right stakeholders
  • Own the event and engagement strategy for France and gain trust with the user community through business and technical face-to-face trials, demos and presentations and papers
  • Coach the internal support teams on user intent and need whilst providing evidence for competitive analysis, price-to-win and offer constructs to guarantee successful campaigns.
What You’ll Need
  • 10 years+ experience as a senior Business Developer in the French Defence sector and preferably within secure communications or satellite service
  • Demonstrated track record of Business shaping and creating within the French Market with evidence of pipeline growth and translation into revenue
  • Strong network within the French Defence ecosystem (procurement agencies, DGA, armed forces, defence primes).
  • Proven ability to drive complex, high-value sales processes through to closure.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in French and English.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and security-sensitive environment
  • Where You’ll Work:

The successful candidate will be employed through Eutelsat SAS in Paris but will be expected to operate and travel or all necessary locations in France as well as occasional overseas trips as needed.
