AbbVie headquarters Europe is recruiting an AI & Machine Learning Engineer reporting to the AI & Machine Learning Engineer Lead for our BTS (Business Technical Solutions) team. The AI Engineer will be responsible for development, implementation and deployment operations of machine learning models and AI solutions to solve complex business problems and drive data‑driven decision‑making. The role collaborates with stakeholders to identify machine learning opportunities and ensures successful deployment and maintenance of models. The engineer plays a critical role in advancing the organization's capabilities in predictive analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

The position can be based in Paris, France; Wiesbaden, Germany or Madrid, Spain.

Responsibilities
  • Model Deployment: deploy machine learning models into production environments, making them available for real‑time inference and ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Model Development: design, develop and implement advanced analytics models including machine learning algorithms and AI solutions.
  • Collaboration: collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to design and implement robust deployment pipelines for continuous improvement of machine learning models.
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models, automating testing and deployment processes.
  • Monitoring and Logging: set up monitoring and logging solutions to track model performance, system health and anomalies, allowing for timely intervention and proactive maintenance.
  • Version Control: implement version control systems for machine learning models.
  • Security & Compliance: ensure that machine learning systems meet security and compliance standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Documentation: maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of ML Ops processes and configurations.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms and deployment strategies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with relevant libraries and tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
  • Experience with DevOps principles and version control (Git preferred).
  • Solid background in software development, version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex problems and solutions to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how analytics can drive business value.
Additional Information

From a practical point of view and daily work life: the headquarters of AbbVie France, currently located in Rungis, will be relocated to 11 Boulevard 92100 Boulogne‑Billancourt by the end of 2025. The new premises along the Seine will host the France and Europe teams in two newly renovated seven‑story buildings within a campus of four buildings. Each floor will be equipped with meeting rooms and relaxation areas to promote collaboration and informal exchanges. The premises will also have outdoor spaces including a green inner courtyard and a private rooftop with a view of the Seine exclusively for AbbVie employees.

Numerous services will be offered on‑site: car and motorcycle parking with electric charging stations, bicycle storage, company restaurant, gym and concierge service. The future offices will be easily accessible by public transport with subway line 9, RER C and buses 126, 189 and 289 stations nearby.
