Mitä tarjoamme / What we offer

The Quantum Nanomechanics group is ambitious yet relaxed and collaborative, conducting top-class experimental research on the fundamentals of quantum mechanics. We utilize superconducting qubits and study quantum information processing via mechanical motion. In applied research we lay the groundwork for a new generation of devices that exploit various microwave–optomechanical effects for efficient signal processing. We have implemented quantum-limited microwave amplifiers and device components for use in superconducting quantum technologies.

We initially offer a typical two-year fixed-term contract, which may be extended. Aalto University follows the Finnish university salary system, and the starting salary for a postdoctoral researcher is approximately 4130 €/month. The salary range is about 4130–4540 €/month depending on prior experience. The contract includes occupational health care.

Work is on the Otaniemi campus in the National Infrastructures for Micro- and Nanotechnology facilities (OtaNano). OtaNano provides access to advanced nanofabrication, nanoscopy and measurement facilities and techniques. The VTT Technology Centre operates as a bridge between research and innovation. The team is part of national flagship initiatives Quantum Technology Finland and the Finnish Quantum Flagship.
