Job summary

Etteplan is seeking a Senior Engineer to design PCB layouts for embedded hardware across diverse industries. You will join a large embedded hardware team and help deliver complete sensor-to-cloud solutions.

You will design layouts, maintain libraries, and prepare manufacturing documentation while collaborating with customers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of PCB layout design experience.
• Proficient with at least one of the listed tools (Altium, PADS, Xpedition).
• Understanding of mechanical design principles and PCBAs integration.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Fluent communication in Finnish and English, written and spoken.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, PCB Layout to join our growing Embedded Hardware team.

In this role, you will design PCB layouts for embedded hardware solutions across a wide range of technologies and industries, including telecommunications, industrial automation, IoT, automotive, medical devices, and defence. You will work as part of a team of more than 70 embedded systems professionals, collaborating closely with experts across Etteplan to develop complete solutions from sensor to cloud.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts for embedded hardware products.
• Create and maintain PCB manufacturing and production documentation.
• Maintain and develop component libraries.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of customer projects as part of multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in PCB layout design.
• Experience with at least one of the following tools: Altium Designer, PADS Standard/Classic or Xpedition.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles and the integration of PCBAs into end products.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills in both Finnish and English, written and spoken.
