Job description

We are GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES), a growing international jet engine MRO located at Helsinki Airport, Finland. We are looking for a Team Lead to join our international Hospital Shop Visit team (SPAH), that handles quick‑turnaround engine shop visits involving inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting.

As Team Lead, you will lead the SPAH Inspection Team, which is responsible for all engine incoming and outgoing inspection tasks. You will plan, coordinate, and execute the work together with your team to ensure quality and efficiency.

While your main base will be at our GATES facility, you’ll occasionally travel to customer sites to perform engine maintenance—whether that’s on‑wing or off‑wing, inside a hangar, or out on the apron. Hospital visits are usually unscheduled and fast‑paced, so we’re looking for someone who can stay flexible and adapt quickly. This is a two‑shift role and may require working outside regular hours, depending on the SPAH Production situation.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of engine incoming and outgoing works such as borescope inspection, visual inspection, QEC/Component inventory read out, MPD tasks, post test build up and shipment preparation
  • Act as a supervisor for your team, plan and support their work, and development
  • Perform borescope and engine visual inspections
  • Plan investments and maintenance for the tooling of your department
  • Create inspection reports for customers and be the point of contact for questions they have
  • Participate in internal & cross department meetings, provide updates regarding the ongoing work
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on CFM56-5B/-7B engine types in line maintenance/operator environment. CF6-80C2 engine experience is considered a plus
  • Good knowledge and understanding of AMM inspections
  • Solid experience in borescope inspections
  • Familiar with engine visual and special procedure inspections
  • Ability to manage multiple work orders at the same time together with the team.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken (Finnish is a plus).
  • Proactive mindset with a strong problem‑solving attitude and goal‑oriented approach.
As an employer, we offer
  • Competitive Salary
  • Comprehensive Occupational Health Services (Access to general practitioners, specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and laboratory examinations)
  • Work Insurance
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation after the first year, increasing to 5 weeks after the second year.
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Free Finnish language courses
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Diverse well‑being benefits (cultural and sports pass 200€/year, on‑site gym, recreational activities – get‑together activities, Sweet Fridays, company t‑shirt days, etc.)
  • Safety Equipment Provided: Includes garments, safety shoes, and other necessary gear
  • Pension Contributions
  • Comprehensive in‑house training and development opportunities
  • Supportive, positive and international work environment
  • Comprehensive relocation support for applicants moving to Finland, including practical guidance and assistance for both the employee and accompanying family members

We invite you to join us in Finland, a country that has been recognized for its high quality of life. Here, you'll have access to free healthcare, education, and social services. Finland’s clean environment and strong infrastructure make it a great place to live and work.

At GATES, we value diversity and have a supportive, experienced team. If you’re interested in joining us, we’d be happy to hear from you.
