Official title: Software Testing Engineer (vanhempainvapaan sijaisuus) — parental-leave substitute
Location: Mankkaa, Espoo, Uusimaa, Finland | Employment information: Full-time, fixed-term parental-leave substitute; hybrid working arrangement
Release readiness is the central focus of this Software Testing Engineer (Parental-Leave Substitute) role at Oriola. The engineer plans UAT for every release, executes the agreed testing, defines exploratory scopes and creates test cases that give users' needs a clear place in assessment. Final UAT approval is given before production deployment, supported by actionable reporting when problems arise. In the regulated pharmaceutical setting, documentation and traceability form part of the testing task rather than an afterthought. The role also brings testing insight into sprint planning and backlog refinement and works with developers and business users at the relevant stages.

- Develop test cases and define the scope for exploratory testing as part of the release-testing work.
- Provide the final UAT decision before a release proceeds to production deployment.
- Document defects in a usable form, including reproduction steps, a severity assessment and supporting evidence.
- Create test records and maintain validation traceability from requirements through test cases to recorded results.
- Take part in sprint planning so potential testability concerns can be raised early.
- Contribute testing input during backlog refinement to identify testability issues before later stages.
- Work with developers to build automated end-to-end tests.
- Bring business users into UAT sessions when their expertise is needed for the assessment.
Qualifications
- Bring at least two years of experience in manual testing, acceptance testing or quality assurance.
- Demonstrate strong test-case design, including equivalence-class partitioning and boundary-value analysis, together with exploratory-testing capability.
- Have experience producing test documentation in a GxP setting or another regulated environment.
- Use Jira and Confluence fluently for the testing and development-team work described.
- Submit the application, CV and salary request in English; no Finnish, Swedish, driving-licence or professional-licence requirement is stated.
- Preferred: Bring knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or the distribution industry.
- Preferred: Have experience with GxP test documentation, which is identified as a major advantage.
- Preferred: Offer experience using traceability matrices or OQ/PQ testing.
