You'll work across products and platforms within the Songtradr portfolio while helping shape the ways of working and engineering culture of our new Helsinki organisation.

We're looking for a Team Lead & Software Engineer to join one of our backend engineering teams in Helsinki.
This is first and foremost a hands-on engineering role. Around 80% of your time will be spent building software alongside the rest of the team, while approximately 20% will focus on supporting the people around you as their Team Lead.
As Team Lead, you'll act as the people manager for a small team of engineers. You'll have regular 1:1s, lead development and performance discussions, coach and mentor team members, and help create an environment where people can do their best work.
This isn't a traditional lead role where you spend your days assigning tasks or deciding what everyone should work on. Prioritisation is handled through the wider product and engineering process. Your role is to enable the team, support individual growth and help information flow smoothly between your team, our Backend Director and the wider organisation.
---
Our technology landscape varies across products and continues to evolve as we grow. In the backend team, you'll primarily work with technologies such as:
You'll also find Ruby and .NET in parts of our established platform. Previous experience with either is a plus, but not a requirement.
---
You don't need years of formal management experience. Perhaps you've already worked as a Team Lead, or you've started taking on 1:1s, mentoring, coaching or other people responsibilities alongside your engineering work and would like to grow further in that direction.
---
We're growing our engineering organisation in Helsinki, creating a rare opportunity to join at an early stage while working on established products at global scale.
Joining now means you'll get to be part of building the Helsinki organisation from its early days - helping shape how the local team works together while collaborating with established engineering teams around the world.
Our brand new office just opened in Vallila, and we work in a flexible hybrid model where the team comes together a few days each week.

If you enjoy building backend software but also get energy from helping the people around you grow, this could be a great combination of both.
