Job summary

Cognizant Finland is seeking a Storage & Backup Architect to define enterprise storage, backup, recovery and disaster recovery architecture for on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments. This architect‑level role requires 12–15+ years of relevant experience delivering resilient infrastructure.

You will lead data centre migration, storage modernisation and platform consolidation, design SAN/NAS/object and cloud storage, and specify backup patterns using Veeam, NetBackup and Azure Recovery

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years hands-on experience as Storage & Backup Architect within enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, object and cloud storage, plus Veeam, NetBackup, and Azure Recovery Services.
• Demonstrated experience in replication, backup, recovery and disaster recovery.
• Working knowledge of Azure hybrid environments.
• Ability to operate within ITSM controls (change, incident, problem, security, audit).
• Ownership, analytical troubleshooting, stakeholder communication and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define storage and backup strategy, standards, target architecture, and technology roadmaps.
• Design SAN, NAS, object, software-defined, archival, and cloud storage solutions.
• Design backup and recovery services using Veeam, NetBackup, and Azure Recovery Services.
• Develop recovery patterns, RPO/RTO alignment, replication, and DR execution approaches.
• Lead data centre migration, storage modernisation, platform consolidation, and lifecycle initiatives.
• Perform capacity planning, performance optimisation, resilience assessment and cost optimisation.
• Embed encryption, access control, data protection, retention, and GDPR-aligned controls.
• Provide architecture governance, vendor coordination, technical workshops, and operational handover documentation.
