Job summary

Hoxhunt in Helsinki is seeking a senior software engineer to help build a real-time threat detection product and deliver features end-to-end across the tech stack, from pattern detection to high-quality user experiences.

You will join ambitious engineers, work in an agile, AI-native environment, and enjoy autonomy, a low-hierarchy culture, and a workspace in Helsinki with a gym and pool.

What you’ll own and drive

• Own delivery of key features end-to-end across the technology stack from building detection for emerging cyber attack patterns and large scale data processing to building intuitive, high quality user experiences.

• Contributing to team processes and practices to help us scale the team and product

• Improve our system reliability and overall architecture by coordinating execution plans and making key technical decisions.

• Drive and mentor the team through technical leadership, acting as a multiplier who unblocks peers and leads insightful code reviews to solve complex challenges.

What makes you thrive here

You’ll probably have at least five years’ experience working in the industry, but we care less about how long you’ve been active and more about what you’ve been doing. We’d love to hear about what you’ve worked on, how it was built, and why it was a success.

You have

• a proven track record of leading complex technical projects from end to finish

• a strong product mindset, with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into user-focused requirements and value generation

• deep, hands-on experience with TypeScript and React, along with experience building backend services and APIs. We use Node.js and MongoDB.

• a solid understanding of the web platform

• Compensation: Monthly salary of €6000-€7500 depending on your experience. You may notice varying salary ranges for roles with similar titles across Hoxhunt; this is because each range is grounded in our role leveling and reflects the seniority, scope, and impact expectations required for that specific role and team, and we operate with a low hierarchy.

Recruitment Process

2. Hiring Manager Interview with Team Lead (45 min, remote).

3. Technical Assignment (take-home task, max 6 hours)

4. Panel Interview (60-90 min, onsite)

5. Meeting with VP of Engineering (30 min, remote)

6. Reference checks and final offer presentation.
