Job summary

Oura is hiring a Process Engineer to bridge hands-on factory floor work with design for manufacturability in new product development. You will contribute to product design through DFM and collaborate with R&D Engineers, factories and external partners.

You will develop and deploy assembly and material handling processes from early design through factory implementation, in cooperation with external partners and internal teams to increase Manufacturability of Oura products.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in consumer electronics manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with electronics assembly processes and automation.
• Experience with molding and gluing processes and automated machines.
• Strong background in product design (DFM) and tooling design.
• Knowledge of process control methods and SPC for yield improvement.
• Collaborative, cross-functional mindset in a complex environment.
• Ability to write SOPs and Work Instructions efficiently.
• Fluent written/spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge to product design for manufacturing, assembly, and tooling.
• Deal with suppliers to develop manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and deploy assembly and material handling processes from design to factory.
• Improve manufacturability of Oura products with external partners.
• Develop gluing process performance from quality and throughput perspectives.
• Plan activities at the interface of R&D programs and factories for readiness and ramp ups.
• Assess manufacturing methods to ensure end customer satisfaction.
• Support and monitor manufacturing at contract manufacturer sites; remove bottlenecks.
• Document manufacturing processes.

As a Process Engineer you feel equally comfortable working hands-on at the factory floor as you do in driving Design for Manufacturability in new product development projects.

You will contribute to product design through DFM work and collaborate closely with R&D Engineers, factories and external partners, like suppliers, as needed.

What You Will Do

• Apply your knowledge and contribute to product design for manufacturing, assembly process, and tooling. Deal with equipment suppliers to find and develop solutions.
• Develop and deploy assembly and material handling processes from early design phase to factory implementation in cooperation with external partners and internal teams to increase Manufacturability to Oura products.
• Develop gluing process performance from a quality and throughput point of view.
• Plan your activities in the interface of Oura R&D Programs and factories. Ensure manufacturing readiness, timely execution of prototype builds, and successful factory ramp ups.
• Assess manufacturing/assembly methods from a quality point of view to ensure end customer satisfaction.
• Support and monitor Oura manufacturing at contract manufacturer sites; facilitate problem solving and remove obstacles and bottlenecks.
• Make documentation of processes to manufacturing.

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

• Proven track record working in/with consumer electronics manufacturing. Hands on experience of electronics assembly processes, automation, and collaboration with factories.
• Experience in miniaturized product designs.
• Strong background in contributing to product design (DFM), design of manufacturing tooling and manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process parameters and statistical process control as well as experience in developing and fine-tuning process control methods and improving yields.
• You have experience of molding and glueing processes and automated machines.
• You work collaboratively and effectively in a complex environment and with cross-functional teams, external parties, and factories.
• Systematic and organized way of working. You effectively identify and set priorities for the tasks at hand.
• Experience how to make SOPs and Work Instructions efficiently.
• You feel comfortable working with written and spoken English
