Job summary

Tieto is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for its Public 360° platform, which serves the Nordic public sector. You'll be crucial in advancing technical capabilities, designing and operating cloud infrastructure, and managing security systems.

The ideal candidate has significant experience in platform engineering, particularly with Azure and Kubernetes, and will work in a flexible/hybrid setup, ideally based in Espoo or nearby.

Senior Platform Engineer – Public 360° – Tieto Indtech (m/f/d)

Tieto Public 360° – building secure, scalable digital services for the public sector across the Nordics.

About the Company

Tieto's Public 360° is a leading case management platform used across the Nordic public sector for over 20 years. Since 2014, the SaaS platform has been running on modernized Azure infrastructure with automated deployments while also supporting on‑prem/hybrid/Domestic cloud installations.

The 360° Platform Currently Powers Three Solutions

• Public 360° – Case and archive management
• Plan & Build 360° – Building permit applications
• eArchive 360° – Long‑term data storage

The challenge

We're building on Public 360°'s modern foundation to expand across multiple cloud environments—strengthening Nordic digital sovereignty and enabling AI capabilities, all while maintaining the highest requirements for security and compliance.

The role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll advance the technical capabilities of the 360° hosting platform. You'll design and operate cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, automation, and security systems that support continued growth and enable new AI‑powered features.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate the cloud platform foundation supporting Public 360° across Public Cloud and Domestic Cloud environments.
• Deploy, manage, and continuously improve Kubernetes‑based platforms and containerized workloads.
• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code (Bicep), GitOps, CI/CD, and self‑service platform capabilities.
• Establish secure and scalable platform services covering networking, identity, secrets management, monitoring, and operational governance.
• Improve reliability and operational excellence through observability, automation, incident management, and best practices.
• Support the modernization of Public 360° through cloud‑native technologies, APIs, messaging, and microservices architectures.

Required Qualifications

• Several years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong Azure and cloud‑native platform experience.
• Strong hands‑on Kubernetes experience, including:
  • Cluster deployment, installation, and lifecycle management.
  • Operations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Networking, security, and scalability.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes in cloud, on‑premises, or domestic cloud environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services, particularly AKS, cloud networking, security monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform or similar), GitOps, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sovereign, domestic cloud, hybrid cloud, or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus.
• Experience with Keycloak or other identity and access management platforms.
• Experience operating distributed systems, microservices architectures, or multi‑region Kubernetes environments.
• Exposure to AI platform infrastructure, intelligent automation, or GenAI technologies.

Tech we use

We are Azure‑first and automation‑driven, building and operating our platform using Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, containers, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code with Bicep. Our engineering teams use Azure DevOps and GitHub Workflows for CI/CD and automation, supported by Azure networking and cloud security services. We focus heavily on observability and reliability, using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Alloy for monitoring and telemetry. Authentication and authorization are managed through Keycloak, while RabbitMQ provides messaging capabilities across our platform. Our API and ingress layer is built on technologies such as APISIX and NGINX, with certificate management handled through OpenBao and cert‑manager. Development is primarily done using .NET (C#), TypeScript/JavaScript, PowerShell, and Bash, with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code as our primary development tools.

Practicalities

Location and work setup: Flexible/hybrid, ideally near one of our development hubs in Scandinavia (Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, or Espoo).

Language requirements: Fluent English required. Nordic language skills are considered an advantage.
