Smartly seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Ad Performance Recommendation team, directing ML-driven development and achieving measurable business impact. You will mentor engineers and data scientists, drive production-ready ML systems, and collaborate across Media, Creative, and Intelligence platforms.

You will guide the vision for ML applications, promote AI excellence, and partner with recruitment to grow the team in a hybrid work model. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building services and products.
• 5+ years applying machine learning to real-life problems.
• 3+ years leading teams.
• Proficient with ML tech: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python, SQL.
• Able to mentor data scientists and ML engineers.
• Proven experience delivering scalable ML systems in production.
• Hands-on coaching through code reviews and pairing.
• Pragmatic mindset focused on customer value and production systems.
• Curious, eager to learn and experiment.
• Ability to drive technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding security and privacy compliance with personal data.
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Availability to work 3 days per week at the office.

Responsibilities
