Job summary

ICEYE in Espoo, Finland is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own cloud networking foundations that connect satellite operations, ground systems, and customer deliveries at global scale. Our AWS footprint requires formal ownership and reliable, automated, well-observed infrastructure.

You will design, build, and operate cloud networking infrastructure (AWS preferred), automate with Terraform/Ansible, and push for formal ownership while maintaining security and observability.

Qualifications

• Solid experience operating cloud infrastructure; AWS is preferred.
• Strong networking fundamentals for hybrid and cloud environments.
• Understanding of secure network design (VPNs, encryption).
• Infrastructure automation with IaC tooling (Git, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD).
• Ability to design and defend network architecture decisions with peers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate cloud networking infrastructure (AWS preferred) supporting satellite operations and customer delivery
• Contribute hands-on to the networking layer of ICEYE's AWS infrastructure, helping the team build toward formal ownership
• Manage infrastructure through automation, API driven configuration and version controlled change processes (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD)
• Contribute to the design of hybrid networks connecting cloud and on-premises environments
• Own critical production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and security against real-world threats

What we're looking for

Must haves

• Solid, proven experience operating cloud infrastructure, AWS experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of core networking fundamentals, routing, and how these translate into hybrid and cloud environments
• Understanding of secure network design (VPNs, encrypted communications)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and IaC tooling (Git, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)
• Ability to design, explain, and defend network architecture decisions (trade-offs, diagrams, review with peers)
• Pragmatic, collaborative mindset with the ability to balance technical quality with business needs

Nice to haves

• A background that evolved from classic networking into modern cloud environments
• Experience with on-premises networking hardware and physical infrastructure
• Expert-level experience with a major enterprise network operating system or firewall platform
• Experience and willingness for hands-on work with physical infrastructure

Base salary range for this position is 6000-8000 EUR per month (gross), depending on experience, and will be negotiated individually.
