Job summary

Skeleton Technologies GmbH in Vaasa seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer to drive electronics design for large-scale energy-storage applications. You will translate system requirements into hardware specs, guide PCB layouts, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure robust, testable designs.

The role requires 5+ years in electronics design, experience with DFM/DFT, EoL testing, and strong English communication. Flexible hours and a startup culture support growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or embedded systems.
• 5+ years of electronics design experience.
• Experience transitioning designs into manufacturing with DFM/DFT.
• Experience in EoL testing and yield/failure analysis.
• Experience with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, mechanics, testing, production).
• Good verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Define electronics functionality and translate system requirements into hardware specs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, cost targets, and customer expectations.
• Conduct risk, reliability, and redundancy analyses (FMEA, FTA).
• Design schematics, PCB layouts, wiring and interfaces to meet EMC/EMI and manufacturability needs.
• Perform electrical simulations and testing to verify system behaviour and support production.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, logs, reports, and manuals.
• Support hardware quality through validation testing and collaboration with test engineers.
• Define and validate end-of-line testing; analyze yield and failure data for improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve issues and support troubleshooting.
• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering and production teams to guide builds.
