Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Application Specialist, IT Development Tools, to join our HR & Admin applications team in Metso IT. In this role, you will play a key role in managing and developing Agile IT development tools and IT service operations, including development and collaboration tools, portfolio reporting, and system integrations.

Your responsibilities will also include knowledge transfer, preparing and delivering training sessions, promoting existing tools to maximize their benefits, and maintaining solution documentation. You will actively participate in activities related to Agile development processes. When complex issues arise, you will coordinate application support with vendors and contribute to developing service processes in line with the Metso IT Support model. To ensure optimal use of IT development tools, you will collaborate closely with the portfolio team and all development teams across IT and business functions.

This position is based in Espoo, Finland, with the possibility of hybrid work to some extent.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who:

  • Develops and drives development tool services in diverse environments.
  • Has a self‑directed and collaborative working style, engaging effectively with stakeholders in both business and IT.
  • Communicates openly, raises issues proactively, and promotes the features and benefits of development tools to users.
  • Has strong English communication skills (written and spoken) are required, while Finnish is considered an asset.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Experience with IT development solutions and collaboration tools, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Familiarity with ServiceNow, SharePoint, Identity and Access Management (IAM), DevOps, and/or low‑code solutions are considered an advantage.
  • Ability to translate diverse requirements into technical solutions and contribute to improving the architecture of the IT development environment in collaboration with other parts of the IT organization.
  • A solid understanding of SAFe, Lean, and Agile ways of working (preferred).
