Job summary

Easpring Finland New Materials Oy is expanding its analytical laboratory in Finland, seeking a Senior Analytical Engineer to support establishment and daily operation. The role combines laboratory work, safety compliance, equipment management and external coordination.

The successful candidate will oversee analytical testing using ICP-OES, PSD, BET, Karl Fischer, XRD, SEM, and related methods, develop SOPs, and lead corrective actions while ensuring adherence to Finnish and EU safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in industrial laboratory testing or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience with analytical instrumentation and laboratory testing.
• Good understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
• Proactive, responsible and able to work independently.
• Strong English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support analytical techniques including ICP-OES, PSD, BET/SSA, Karl Fischer titration, Acid-base titration, XRD, SEM and other testing items.
• Support analytical method development, validation, verification and improvement.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of internal abnormal test results and customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance and repair.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and laboratory procedures.
• Support the laboratory quality system, customer audits and preparation for ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers, calibration providers, external laboratories, waste contractors and other technical service providers.

About The Role

Easpring Finland New Materials Oy is developing its analytical laboratory in Finland and is seeking a Senior Analytical Engineer to support its establishment and daily operation.

The role combines laboratory operations, analytical work, safety and compliance, equipment management, and supplier and client coordination. We are looking for a proactive professional who can take ownership of laboratory activities and contribute to building efficient, safe and reliable laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical skills

• Operate and support analytical techniques including ICP-OES, PSD, BET/SSA, Karl Fischer titration，Acid-base titration, XRD, SEM and other testing items.
• Support analytical method development, validation, verification and improvement.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of internal abnormal test results and customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Laboratory Safety & Compliance

• Support laboratory activities in accordance with the Finnish and EU legislation, company HSE requirements, and approved procedures.
• Maintain good practices for chemical handling, storage, waste management, occupational safety and environmental compliance.

Laboratory Operations

• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance and repair.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and laboratory procedures.
• Support the laboratory quality system, customer audits and preparation for ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

External Coordination

• Coordinate with equipment suppliers, calibration providers, external laboratories, waste contractors and other technical service providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in industrial laboratory testing or quality control within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the battery, chemical, or advanced materials industry is preferred.
• Practical experience with analytical instrumentation and laboratory testing.
• Good understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
• Proactive, responsible and able to work independently.
• Strong English language skills.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of Finnish chemical, occupational safety and environmental requirements
• Laboratory establishment or improvement projects.
• ISO/IEC 17025, laboratory quality systems or customer audits.
• Hazardous chemical and laboratory waste management.
• ICP-OES, Karl Fischer, BET, PSD, XRD, SEM or electrochemical testing.
• Coordination with authorities, suppliers, external laboratories or technical service providers.
