We are offering a position as a Secondary Engineer at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business. This role will be in Vaasa, where we have the team and an office. The business unit designs and delivers complete substations for distribution and transmission grids. We are offering an interesting position in an international project environment and various development possibilities in the areas of design and engineering, research, and development. Because each project is different, your responsibilities will range widely and may include managing all aspects of secondary design from initial planning to final delivery. Daily responsibilities include preparing design drawings, drafting essential construction documents, conducting engineering calculations, and overseeing commissioning processes. At Hitachi Energy, you will have the opportunity to apply your design expertise across diverse projects, both domestically in Finland and internationally.
Prepare and review substation documentations, for example, single line diagram, protection diagrams, interlocking diagrams, AC and DC drawings, calculations, control and protection panel drawings, IED configurations, cabling and bills of materials. Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services. Provide technical support during pre-FAT and FAT stage, handling installation and commissioning activities. Prepare project documentation within one's scope of deliverables. Participate in testing and commissioning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project manager, design (Lead, Primary, Civil and commissioning), planner, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project integration and successful outcomes in international project environment. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Finnish or Swedish. Demonstrated proactivity, results orientation, strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities. Willingness to participate in international projects. Willingness to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally. Previous experience in engineering work related to high and medium voltage substations is considered an asset. Experience in design software such as E3, AutoCAD, PCM600 is considered as an advantage. Understanding of substation control and protection systems is also considered beneficial.
