OP Pohjola is launching the Kiitorata Trainee Program in Helsinki, inviting 39 talents to join diverse roles within Markets Risk Management.
The Risk Analyst Trainee will assist in market, counterparty credit and operational risk analysis, reporting and automation. The program is six months (March 1–August 31, 2027) with a monthly salary of €3,200, and a hybrid working model.

Are you curious about how a major financial institution measures and manages risk? Would you like to combine quantitative analysis, programming and financial markets while developing solutions that support sound decision-making?
As a Risk Analyst Trainee, you will support the analysis, monitoring and reporting of market risk, counterparty credit risk and operational risk related to Markets and Banking Investments activities. You will also work with economic capital and regulatory capital metrics, gaining a broad view of how risk is measured and managed in a leading financial institution.
You will work closely with colleagues across Risk Management and other stakeholders, share your findings with the team and contribute to continuous improvement and automation. The role offers practical exposure to market risk management, banking regulation, and the supporting data and technology.
You are likely to thrive in this role if you have a genuine interest in the financial sector, together with strong quantitative and programming skills. You approach complex questions analytically, solve problems pragmatically, and enjoy improving and automating processes. In this role, we expect you to be either a recent graduate or in the final stages of your university studies.
Experience in cloud development or cloud–AI integration is an advantage. Knowledge of banking, insurance, wealth management or financial regulation is also considered an asset. You will join the Markets and Banking Investments Data & Models team within Markets Risk Management. Our team works at the intersection of risk, data, regulation and technology, supporting reliable risk measurement and reporting for Markets and Banking Investments activities.
You will collaborate with colleagues across Risk Management, regulatory reporting and relevant business areas. The team combines independent analytical work with active knowledge sharing, practical problem-solving and close stakeholder cooperation. You will receive support from experienced specialists while being encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas and take ownership of meaningful tasks.
This traineeship gives you hands‑on experience of risk analysis in a broad and professionally demanding environment. You will learn how market, counterparty credit and operational risks are measured, monitored and reported, and how internal models, regulatory methods, data and technology come together in day‑to‑day risk management.
You will develop your analytical, programming, documentation and communication skills through practical assignments, with guidance from experienced professionals. You will also contribute to development and automation work, building knowledge for a future career in the financial sector.
