Job summary

ICEYE in Espoo, Finland is seeking an RF Test Engineer to support qualification of radar satellite hardware and develop test equipment. You will contribute to AIT activities for next generation satellite platforms and work with an embedded team in a hybrid on-site setting.

The role requires a strong background in RF testing, lab instrumentation, and root-cause analysis, with English communication in a multicultural environment. Permanent position with security screening where required.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in testing, test automation, electronics, and RF.
• Background as an RF test engineer and/or RF design engineer.
• Hands-on experience testing custom electronics systems with lab equipment.
• Proven experience performing root-cause analysis on failures.
• A positive attitude and a drive to learn new things.
• Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Why this role matters:

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the company's continued growth as we expand our Engineering team. We are looking for an RF Test Engineer to join our office in Espoo. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the qualification of new satellite hardware, developing test equipment, and contributing to the Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) activities for next-generation satellite platforms.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Develop qualification plans that verify our latest RADAR components, along with other RF-related satellite hardware, against their design requirements.

• Prepare and maintain documentation for internal reviews, including test procedures, test reports, assembly procedures, and other supporting records.

• Carry out a wide range of qualification tests.

• Analyze test data, investigate the root cause of any failures, and present findings to key stakeholders.

• Give clear, actionable feedback to the design teams.

• Design and build EGSE, data acquisition systems, and custom test hardware and software.

• Support the transition of new hardware components into production.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• BSc/MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in testing, test automation, electronics, and RF

• Background as an RF test engineer and/or RF design engineer

• Hands-on experience testing custom electronics systems with a wide range of lab equipment, such as digital oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power sensors, and thermal chambers

• Proven experience performing root-cause analysis on failures

• A positive attitude and a drive to learn new things

• Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment

• Strong written and spoken English

Nice to haves:

• Aerospace industry experience

• Hands on experience in satellite assembly

• Experience with linux operating systems

• Experience in programming with python

• PCB design with Altium or a similar electronics design (EDA) tool.

• Experience with revision control tools (like Git or SVN)
