Job summary

VTT is seeking a Research Scientist or Research Engineer for 3D integration with a strong background in semiconductor device fabrication or process integration. You will design and develop processes for monolithic and heterogeneous post-CMOS integration, tackling complex fabrication challenges in close collaboration with a team of experts.

The role focuses on CMOS/2D sensors, in-memory analog computing, and post-CMOS 3D integration, with collaboration across academia and industry.

We are now looking for Research Scientist or Research Engineer for 3D integration with a strong background in semiconductor device fabrication or process integration. You identify and solve problems independently and creatively, while working closely and flexibly with a team of experts. You focus on the design and fabrication aspects of developing processes for 3D integration of CMOS and semiconductor devices. You understand the big picture and participate in the concept development.

Our team develops advanced semiconductor components focused on more than Moore applications such as CMOS integrated 2D sensors, in-memory analog computing, and post-CMOS 3D integration. The developments are made in close collaboration with our academic partners along the lines agreed with our industrial partners.

Your responsibilities as Research Scientist / Research Engineer:

• Development and characterization of processes for monolithic and heterogeneous integration for post-CMOS integration
• Solving complex fabrication challenges
• Communicating and solving the problems in tight collaboration with others at VTT

Who we are looking for:

• Experience in semiconductor process integration and 3D technologies
• You have a MSc or PhD in physics, electronics, or closely similar field.
• You have experience in cleanroom fabrication
• Excellent communications skills in English are required.
