Job summary

University of Turku invites applications for a fixed-term, part-time Postdoctoral Researcher (50%) for the PERSECUTIO project. The role involves independent and collaborative research on causes of persecution in late medieval Europe, with emphasis on modelling medieval sources and quantitative analysis.

The successful candidate will contribute to data analysis, scholarly publishing, and project workshops, with potential teaching and supervision duties.

Qualifications

• Completed doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g. history, statistics, social sciences).
• Experience in quantitative analysis of historical or comparable humanities data.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Developing, with the project leader, variables and methods for quantitative analysis of the data modelled.
• Participating in the analysis of the modelled data.
• Participating in scholarly publishing activities.
• Participating in preparation of workshops and other events.
• Collaborating with project partners, especially the DISSINET group at Masaryk University.
• Engaging in societal impact and communication activities of the project.
• Possibly teaching or supervising students.
