Job summary

Mercor is building a red team for AI safety. This remote role focuses on testing conversational AI, reviewing outputs on sensitive topics, and communicating clearly about risks with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will generate high-quality human data, annotate failures, and produce reproducible reports and attack cases to help customers strengthen safety across AI systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in AI red teaming, cybersecurity, or socio-technical probing.
• Ability to follow structured taxonomies and benchmarks.
• Strong written and verbal communication of risks to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Red team conversational AI models and agents: jailbreaks, prompt injections, misuse cases, bias exploitation, multi-turn manipulation
• Generate high-quality human data: annotate failures, classify vulnerabilities, and flag systemic risks
• Apply structure: follow taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to keep testing consistent
• Document reproducibly: produce reports, datasets, and attack cases customers can act on
