Job summary

Academic Work Finland Oy is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, develop and verify real-time software for power electronics. You will own the full lifecycle from requirements to HIL validation, collaborating with hardware, FPGA and software teams across global sites.

You will work in an English-speaking environment, applying RTOS like VxWorks, using embedded tools and Git/JIRA for traceability, and contributing to quality, safety and performance in demanding applications.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics/electrical engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
• Solid embedded software development experience for real-time systems.
• Familiarity with RTOS (e.g., VxWorks) and embedded tooling; version control and issue tracking (Git, JIRA).

Responsibilities

• Design & implementation of embedded C/C++ for real-time control systems.
• Maintain software requirements and architecture with full traceability in JIRA.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, and static analysis to uphold safety and quality standards.
• Support system-level validation and HIL testing activities.
• Analyze and debug complex runtime, timing, or integration issues in lab environments.
• Contribute to improving software development processes and tooling.
