Job summary

Outokumpu Stainless Oy is seeking a Quality Development Engineer to drive product quality development in an international industrial setting. You will analyze performance, lead improvement initiatives, and collaborate with Production, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to strengthen quality systems.

The role focuses on monitoring quality, developing metrics, and coordinating improvement projects that impact customers and business success. Fluency in English and Finnish is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management principles.
• Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and audits.
• Practical expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Proven ability to manage or coordinate projects.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Fluent communication in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and report product quality and performance while identifying development opportunities.
• Develop quality-related processes, metrics, and reporting tools.
• Analyze key product quality indicators, including mechanical properties, surface quality and characteristics, SOTIF, yield, quality losses, customer satisfaction, claims, and change management.
• Lead and coordinate critical quality improvement projects.
• Support project portfolio management and coordinate Tornio quality improvement project portfolio.
• Contribute to the development of quality management systems, audit readiness, strategic quality objectives, and a strong quality culture.
