Job summary

NestAI is seeking a QA Full-Stack Automation Engineer to establish and scale internal test automation capabilities. You’ll design, build, and maintain automated test harnesses and CI/CD pipelines from scratch, collaborating across engineering, cloud, and edge teams to ensure end-to-end data integrity and rapid release velocity.

The role offers autonomy to influence testing frameworks and best practices as NestOS scales, including consideration of air-gapped environments and hardware-in-the-loop

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and scaling end-to-end test automation across UI, API, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Ability to embed tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback and regression prevention.
• Experience testing interfaces/protocols (REST, gRPC, Kafka, Protobuf).
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Willingness to evaluate new testing technologies and test setups (air-gapped/HIL) and own tooling choices.

Role Description

As a QA Full-Stack Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling our internal test automation capabilities. You will be designing, building, and maintaining automated test harnesses and CI/CD pipelines from scratch. You will work closely with our core engineering, cloud, and edge platform teams to ensure end-to-end data integrity, interface reliability, and rapid release velocity. This role offers significant autonomy to influence our choice of testing frameworks, tools, and best practices as we build out our complete QA organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks across UI, API, and cloud services.
• Embed automated test suites directly into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable build validation and prevent regression issues.
• Verify seamless data flows and communication between user interfaces, core backend services, and edge system integration points.
• Collaborate with core software developers to establish testability standards, define requirements, and champion quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
• Track evolving testing architectures and evaluate, select, and introduce modern frameworks and tooling as our stack grows.
• Work closely with core engineering and platform teams on shared software quality and integration infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven track record of designing, building, and scaling end-to-end test automation frameworks from UI and web interfaces down to hardware-level integration points.
• Deep understanding of complex distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Strong capability in configuring, building, and maintaining scalable test harnesses embedded into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast execution times and rapid developer feedback.
• Solid experience testing and validating interfaces and communication protocols across edge points and core backend services (such as REST APIs, gRPC, Kafka, or Protobuf).
• Experience managing and setting up test environments using containerization and orchestration tooling (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) or Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Mindset to challenge the status quo, shape new ways of working, and take ownership of selecting and evaluating testing technologies rather than just executing existing code.
• Experience building or operating test setups within specialized deployment setups, such as air-gapped environments or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations.
• Additional experience developing, testing, or validating embedded software—or applying full-stack toolsets to hardware-facing systems is a plus.
