We are now looking for a

Production Manager, Defence

Would you like to lead production and build the foundations for its next stage of growth? We are looking for a Production Manager to join Patria’s Defence production team in Tampere.

Your role

As Production Manager, you will lead our production team and ensure that operations meet targets for productivity, delivery performance, quality and cost-efficiency. You will be responsible for workplace safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to internal policies, as well as ensuring that production resources are available and ready to meet operational commitments. You will report to the Production Director.

In this role, you will play a key part in scaling up our production operations to support business growth and the introduction of new product areas, including unmanned aerial systems (drones). You will drive the development of production capabilities, processes and resources to ensure our operations can meet increasing demand while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and delivery performance.

You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build the production capacity and capabilities needed to support both existing business and emerging product areas, contributing to the long-term growth and competitiveness of our business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading daily production operations and planning production over the medium and long term.
  • Delivering production plans in line with agreed schedules and quality targets.
  • Planning resources, leading the team and developing the competence of production personnel.
  • Managing factory-level inbound, internal and outbound logistics flows.
  • Implementing and monitoring safety, quality and continuous improvement practices.
  • Executing product ramp-ups and production changes in collaboration with engineering.
  • Managing production risks and monitoring, analysing and reporting production status and performance against established targets.
  • Planning investments in tools and machinery, and planning and developing production facilities.

You will work closely with colleagues in R&D, quality, procurement and planning, as well as suppliers and technology and development partners.

What you bring

You have extensive experience in production management within a technology or manufacturing environment and strong managerial and leadership skills. Your approach is hands‑on, pragmatic and proactive: you turn plans into action and support your team in achieving shared targets.

To succeed in the role, you will also need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or industrial management.
  • Knowledge of electronics design, testing, automation and manufacturing.
  • Experience in applying Lean principles in production and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills in Finnish and English.

Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology is considered an advantage.

We offer

As Production Manager at Patria, you will play a key role in shaping our production operations during a period of significant growth. You will have the opportunity to put your experience and ideas into practice, develop ways of working and build the foundations for expanding production. Working closely with colleagues in quality, procurement and engineering, you will turn plans into practical results and see the impact of your work in everyday operations.

At Patria, you will get to do things you would not even get to see elsewhere. You will have the opportunity to build a long and varied career working with Patria’s unique products and operations. You will join a welcoming team of experienced professionals.

Our employee benefits include an annual performance bonus scheme, lunch and sports and culture benefits, and support for work‑related studies. We provide comprehensive occupational healthcare, including specialist medical services, as well as leisure‑time accident insurance.

We value your time outside work, too. Flexible working hours help you balance work and leisure.
