Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a seasoned leader to serve as President of the Surface Drilling Division, driving strategy, growth, and transformation for a global industrial business based in Tampere, Finland.

You will lead a multinational organization with full P&L responsibility, accelerate digitalization and service development, strengthen customer partnerships, and foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture. Global travel is expected, reporting to the President of Mining.

Role overview

As President of Surface Drilling Division, you lead a global business with significant influence on strategy, performance, and transformation. You drive sustainable growth, strengthen customer value, and contribute to the broader direction of Business Area Mining as a member of the Mining Management Team. You report to the President of Mining.

You shape and execute the division's strategic agenda while ensuring sustainable business results. With full accountability for operations, commercial performance, innovation, and people development, you guide the organization toward long-term success.

Location and flexibility

This position is based in Tampere, Finland. Global travel is a natural and expected part of the position.

Your profile

You're an accomplished business leader with extensive experience from global industrial or technology-driven environments and a strong record of delivering sustainable growth. Combining strategic vision with operational excellence, you've led large international organizations through change and transformation.

Your background includes

• Experience with full business responsibility, including P&L accountability.
• Leadership of complex international organizations operating in multiple markets.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes.
• Strong cultural awareness and effectiveness in global, cross-functional environments.
• Advanced verbal and written English skills; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
