Qualifications

• Translate an ambitious long-term vision into clear priorities and measurable progress.
• Proven leadership in a sizeable, multicultural organisation.
• Consultative, decisive and empowering leadership style aligned with ethics and purpose.
• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) with a track record of excellence in academic research.
• Credibility to represent the university with government, academia, business and wider society.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and strategy to drive Aalto forward as an innovative university.
• Create conditions for excellence in research, education, society impact and collaboration.
• Provide institutional leadership with accountability for performance and resilience.
• Anticipate AI and emerging technologies and articulate a positive role for Aalto.
• Represent Aalto in Finland and internationally and strengthen its policy voice.
• Deepen partnerships and expand private funding and endowment.
